About us

The RTDA was established informally in December, 2001 by a small group of volunteers interested in developing tourism with the intention of providing employment for youths in Linden. .
The Association was formally registered as a non-profit organization in June, 2003. Although RTDA is,an independent organization, it has a close association with the Linden Chamber of Industry Commerce & Development.

The main objectives of the Association are:

  • To make recommendations and representation to government &regional officers on matters relating to Tourism in Linden and Region 10.
  • To foster the development of Tourism related Human Resources at all levels
  • To develop and enhance the appearance of all historic sites within Region 10

Since our establishment we have been active in areas such as, assisting in planning and organizing the annual Linden Town Day activities, encouraging and assisting craft producers to exhibit and promote their products at events such as, exhibitions for visiting cruise liners, and the Guyexpo exhibition. Also organizing training courses for management and other employees in the hospitality industry.

We have founded a museum in Linden where we have assembled many  tangible and intangible features of our history. We intend to continue our plan to develop tourism in Linden and the wider Region 10, and to ensure that the Region becomes known as one where tourists/visitors receive a warm welcome.

The RTDA is committed to developing tourism in the region, and is prepared to work along with any group or organisation, including local and foreign investors who have an interest in tourism.
